Here are some ideas for a romance filled Valentines Day this year!
1. Visit the Gallery
The Southampton City Art Gallery is the most "outstanding gallery" in the South of England and is internationally renowned for its impressive collection and temporary exhibitions programme.
The works on display, of both historic and contemporary art, show the breadth and quality of the City’s art treasures.
Over the valentines period there is a Leonardo da Vinci exhibition which looks great.
You might want to plan ahead and book a spot to eat afterwards as visitors have mentioned that they can get around the entire collection within a couple of hours.
There is also the SeaCity museum and Solent Sky Museum.
2. Keep it classic, dress up and dine
Make a dinner reservation somewhere fancy and dress up in your favourite outfit. Putting on your best outfit always makes the dinner feel that little bit more special.

4. Todd English (American)
5. The Terrace Restaurant (British)
3. Get out of Southampton
If you’ve got the time, money and freedom, stretch your Valentine’s Day into a Valentine’s weekend away at a romantic resort far away or bed-and-breakfast in Winchester or New Forest.
4. Movie and duvet day
Sometimes the best Valentine’s Day gift you can give is the gift of uninterrupted time together doing nothing. You don’t need to leave the house to make Valentine’s Day special. Think of how great it could be to spend the entire day in bed together - without interruption. Turn off your phones, don’t answer the door and enjoy each other.
